๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ท Korean Grammar 202: V/A-๋”๋ผ๋„ (Even if / Although)

In this lesson, we’ll learn how to use the Korean grammar pattern “V/A-๋”๋ผ๋„”, which means “even if” or “although.”
It’s often used when you want to express that one situation or condition does not affect another.
Let’s study its meaning, structure, and examples together.

๐Ÿ’ก Meaning

The grammar “-๋”๋ผ๋„” is used after verb or adjective stems to express that even if the first clause happens or is true, the result or action in the second clause remains unchanged.

In other words, it means “even if,” “although,” or “no matter how…” in English.

It assumes or acknowledges the preceding statement, but shows that it does not influence what follows.

This pattern is often used with adverbs such as ์•„๋ฌด๋ฆฌ (no matter how), ๋น„๋ก (although), and ์„ค์‚ฌ (even if).
In spoken Korean, “-๋”๋ผ๋‘” is also used.
